Dave started playing music in high school when a couple of the kids in his Portland neighborhood urged him to buy a bass guitar to accompany their drums and guitar playing. That trio never amounted to much but soon Dave was jamming with other high school friends and wound up in a band he dubbed Electric Strawberry. The Strawberry played many high school events but didn't last much past graduation because the drummer traipsed off to work a Colorado gold mine.

A year would pass before the fateful birthday party that put Dave in the same room as the other members of what would become Nine Days Wonder (including the gold miner). That band noodled along from spring of 1985 through Halloween 1991 and ended with the chain saw destruction of a drum set and an electric guitar. The Renegade Saints rose from the ashes like a phoenix with Dave, Al Toribio and Mike Walker.

The Renegade Saints pillaged the countryside from 1992 through January of 1996 playing 25 states, destroying three vehicles, damaging five livers, and jading five already nebulous minds. After escaping that mayhem Dave headed for calmer pastures by hooking up with Bart Ferguson to form a nice little acoustic outfit known at first as Snap Jackson, then as Kerosene Dream after a Ferguson song title. Kerosene Dream eclipsed its humble beginnings and has endured numerous personnel changes on its quest for the golden chalice.

The quest continues....
